Midterm Mayhem!

On Friday, January 9, you will take an open-notes quiz on the Gamma Rays PowerPoint presentation we viewed in class on Tuesday. Please make sure your notes are in order!

MIDTERM INFORMATION

**For the 2009 midterm exam schedule, please go to http://www.hpregional.org/ >> High School >> Midterm Exam Schedule.**

*On Monday, 1/5, we went over - in depth! - your midterm exam responsibilities. Your homework, between now and the midterm, is to complete the following tasks:
a. learn the sixteen literary terms and definitions (Part 1);
b. complete the example "terms in context" section (Part 2);
c. practice open-ended responses for two questions of your choosing (Part 4);
d. read the excerpt from the Elie Wiesel speech and begin preparing your four-paragraph persuasive response (Part 5).

Please let me know if you have any questions about any of your exam tasks! Don't wait until the last minute to ask for help, okay?

Reminder One: Part 3 centers on quotation identification and short answer responses for Gamma Rays, the play we are reading in class between now and your exam. Take good notes as we read so you are well-prepared!

Reminder Two: You may bring one 3"x5" index card with you on the day of the exam. This card may contain FIVE (and only five) literary term definitions as well as other materials that may be helpful to you as you take your test (i.e. - topic sentences for your open-ended responses, and outline for your persuasive essay, characters' names, authors' names, titles, notes on Gamma Rays, etc.). Your index card will be collected and stapled to your exam for my review. Please use this opportunity wisely!

Happy studying!
